M R S Corporations was awarded a turnkey job by Ministry of External Affairs to install the Situation Room cum disaster management cell.
The existing projection system was in need of some serious improvements, and Ministry wanted something that was not only state of the art but also easy to use. The ability to easily switch between multiple sources was very important, automation with a simple control system, Ministry are now able to quickly switch from a PowerPoint presentation to a DVD player/VCR, video conference, audio conference with record & retrieval facility and TV program.

The system included dual display, consisting of two video walls made up of four 50-inch diagonal cubes arranged in a two-by-two configuration for a 24 x 7 usage in case of disaster management. An additional plasma display was installed in the centre of both video walls. Full matrix capability was provided, allowing any source to be viewed on any display at any time in any permutation/combination and small component rack fits securely and safely out of the way.
Display sources include various dedicated and auxiliary computer inputs throughout the room, VCR, DVD player, cable television, and secure/non-secure video conferencing. The audio system provides distribution of playback and reinforcement audio throughout the room via ceiling mounted speakers. Microphones in the podium and conference table enable capturing of audio for video conference and voice reinforcement.
The system is controlled via two touch panel interfaces, one at the Podium and one connected at the conference table and X-panel at operator’s console. The control system also provides operator control of the room message signs and room lighting systems. Complete solution on EPABX with voice / fax logger to record & retrieve all incoming as well as outgoing telephone calls and faxes individually or in bulk.
M R S Corporation provided custom furniture for the entire complex, including a dual mode conference table (presentation mode & conference mode), podium and an operator's console. Electronics integrated into the furniture include microphones, computer audio and video and telephone points in the conference table, podium and control room. Multimedia projector mounted on an electronic lift at the head of the conference table as a redundant feature. To provide an optimal acoustical environment, sound proof paneling was installed on the walls in the room. Advanced video conferencing capabilities with three 360° high resolution cameras mounted on the wall were integrated into the system, along with Automation Software for touch panel control for automation of complex. |
